€200 million Fine For French 'Dairy Cartel'

As reported by French newspaper lemonde.fr, 11 companies involved in the so-called 'yoghurt cartel' will have to pay a combined fine of about €200 million.

The French competition watchdog claims that it is one of the highest fines it has ever imposed for alleged price fixing.

The global leader for dairy products, Lactalis Nestlé, has to pay the highest amount (estimated at €56.1 million) due to its size.

Other firms facing a fine inclufe Senagral, a subsidiary of Senoble, the Andros subsidiary Novandie, Maîtres Laitiers du Cotentin, Yéo Frais, Laïta, Alsace Lait and Dairy Saint-Malo.
