Aldi Boosts Champagne Stock By 50% To Cater For Demand

Aldi UK is upping its stock levels of its private-label champagne, Veuve Monsigny (NV), to cater for increased demand, TheGuardian.com reports.

The discounter is increasing its stock levels of the brand by 50 per cent in the UK, the paper reports, adding that one in 12 bottles of champagne sold in the UK is Aldi branded.

Speaking of the Philizot & Fils-made champagne, which it has sold since 2012, Aldi commented, “We’re expecting our champagne range to be particularly popular over the coming months. We’re delighted not only to have increased stock of our core-range offering, but also to have introduced some premium bottles, such as our Blanc de Blancs champagne, to allow our customers to enjoy something extra special over the festive season.”

The discounter describes the taste of Veuve Monsigny as comprised of “aromas of baked apple, brioche and stone fruits, with gorgeous flavours of red fruit, ending in a long, extremely delicious finish”.
