The installation of the SIGUREC ‘smart’ waste-disposal station aims to encourage Tainan citizens to reduce their waste by recycling - giving out $1 discount coupons for every three bottles donated.

The new SIGUREC station will collect of an estimated 60 tonnes of PET bottles, 12 tonnes of aluminium cans, 300 tonnes of iron, 720 tonnes of paper and 6 tonnes of batteries and electronic equipment per year.
