Delegation Presents Green Morocco Plan And Produce At Fruit Logistica

A large Moroccan delegation, comprising over 40 producers, exporters and professional associations, travelled to Berlin for this year’s Fruit Logistica Trade, which took place from 3 to 5 February, to present and promote fresh Moroccan fruits and vegetables.

Fruit Logistica is considered one of the most important international trade fairs for fruits and vegetables, and this year welcomed over 2,800 exhibitors representing 80 countries, as well as 70,000 visitors.

Covering an area of 1,200 square metres, the Moroccan pavilion was designed to showcase the richness of the North African country’s exportable fruit and vegetable supply by exhibiting a diverse range of agricultural products, including citrus fruits, berries, Rosaceae, avocados, mangoes, and pomegranates.

Morocco’s participation in the event was part of the Green Morocco Plan strategy, organised by the country’s Autonomous Establishment of Export Control and Coordination (EACCE), under its Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.

The delegation’s aim at Fruit Logistica was to promote Moroccan products and highlight the quality and diversity of its fresh produce, as well as communicating its competitive advantages to strengthen its position on the international market.

The event was an opportunity for Moroccan producers to meet with traditional partners, while also developing new partnerships and attaining new markets, highlighting the potential achievements and planned developments for this sector within the Green Morocco Plan.

The Moroccan Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries commented in a press release that, “Much is achievable through efforts in quality improvement, value added and labelling of agricultural products made under the framework of the Green Morocco Plan.

Germany is a traditional strategic partner for Morocco, and participation at Fruit Logistica presents a real opportunity to consolidate relations between the two countries in the sector, explore new partnership opportunities and communicate about Morocco’s exportable supply.”
