Asda To Experiment With 24/7 Click-And-Collect Unit

Later this month, Asda will open the UK's first-ever 24/7 click-and-collect point, which stores ordered goods in a temperature-controlled unit, so that customers' shopping can be collected at any point, whether it be night or day.

Retail-week.com reports that Asda customers who purchase their shopping before midday will be able to obtain it at the trial 'intelligent click-and-collect' station (situated in St Helens, Mersyside) as soon as 4pm on that day.

If the experiment proves successful, more such sites will be opened across the United Kingdom.

At present the retailer has a click-and-collect sevice at all of its stores, though many of its 24/7 equivalents will be installed at sites which do not feature Asda supermarkets, retail-week.com says.
