Carrefour Launches E-Commerce Service In Italy

Carrefour Italia has launched Click & Collect, a new service available in 150 stores, which allows users to order groceries online and receive them at home within two hours.

The service is free if the bill is over €70, and customers can also opt to collect the goods at the point of sale.

The bill can be paid in cash, and therefore, an online transaction is not required. The digital interaction is even possible at the point of sale, as with the use of QR codes, it is possible to access the e-commerce site without having to type in and search for the addresses.

Meanwhile, Naples has become the fifth city in Italy in which Carrefour has a 24/7 store, located in Corso Europa. Previously, the supermarket chain opened similar stores in Milan, Turin, Palermo and Vercelli.

The format gives priority to the self-service mode, i.e. without the presence of employees at the cold-cut, cheese and fresh-food counters, where only pre-packaged goods will be available. Alcohol sales are prohibited after midnight.
