Friskies Celebrates Anniversary In France

Friskies, the maker of cat and dog food, is about to celebrate its 45th anniversary in France.

The brand, which is a subsidiary of Purina Nestlé Petcare, entered the French market in 1969.

To mark the milestone, an advertising campaign centred around the iconic red cat which features on the firm's cat food packets will run through the remainder of March until the end of June. Television spots will be the central vehicles for this promotion.

In terms of pet-food volume, Friskies controls 20 per cent of the market share in France.

In 2014, the brand generated a turnover of €154 million through sales of 80,000 tonnes of product.
