Jumbo Opens Renovated Headquarters In Veghel

Dutch supermarket-chain Jumbo has re-opened its headquarters in Veghel (The Netherlands), after 18 months of renovation work.

To create more office space, the company had opted to re-model the existing offices and distribution centre, to preserve the company's historical link with the original buildings. Added features include a Test Lab and a 'Foodcafé' for Jumbo employees.

To mark the re-opening, as well as the company's 95th anniversary this year, the Jumbo employees presented the company with a work of art, incorporating the Jumbo logo.

Frits van Eerd, CEO of Jumbo Supermarkets, commented: "We are delighted to have room for everyone now at this inspiring place, at the roots of our family business. We find it important to nurture this (family) aspect, so that everyone is aware of who we are (...) and why we do things the way we do them. And we will continue on the road to turn our customers into fans!"

Jumbo is the second largest supermarket-chain in the Netherlands and one of the country's largest employers, with 60,000 employees.
