The latest figures from Kantar Worldpanel indicate that Casino's Leader Price banner was the big winner in terms of market share growth in the four week period to the end of July, registering a +20bps growth for the period.
Casino's Géant hypermarkets also saw growth, rising by +10bps in the period. However, Casino as a whole, with 11.5% market share, is still well behind market leaders Carrefour and Leclerc.
Carrefour stands on 21.4% market share, according to the figures, with Leclerc on 20.2%, however the latter is "showing signs of positive traffic", according to a Kantar statement.
Auchan and Intermarché remain third and fourth respectively in the ranking, while Système U is in sixth, with 10.4% market share.
