Menesguen To Retire From L’Oréal After 30 Years

Marc Menesguen is to resign as president of L’Oréal Produits Grand Public at the end of 2016, ending a 30-year career with the cosmetics giant, the company has announced.

Menesguen, who is to be succeeded by Alexis Perakis-Valat, L’ Oréal’s current president for Asia-Pacific, joined the company in 1985, and became director of marketing for L’Oréal Paris two years after.

Following this, he ran L’Oréal Paris’s UK division and then L’Oréal Paris France, before taking control of Lancôme International in 1996. In 2005 he took the reins of the multinational’s Japanese division, followed by its Luxembourg arm, and then became its director of strategic marketing in 2011. He has held his present position since 2013.

“I wish to warmly thank Mark for the major contribution he made to the success of this company over the past 30 years,” said L’Oréal chief executive, Jean-Paul Agon.
