Selex Selects IBM Commerce Solutions For Price Optimisation

Italian retail group Selex has selected IBM Commerce solutions to manage the optimisation of prices at group level and improve competitiveness.

The first phase of the project saw three pilot retailers refine their pricing strategy and competitive positioning (business zones, mapping of competition, etc.).

Selex opted for IBM as it required capabilities that would allow it to create and implement, at both group and business level, strategies for optimising the competitive price for every product in every store, based on trends in consumer demand.

To facilitate this, Selex chose the IBM Price Management and Price Optimisation in SaaS solutions, which analyses the prices of competition in near real-time and generates alerts.

The management and analytics tools are part of a IBM Omni-Channel Merchandising suite, which will be used by six of the group's companies to determine the optimal price per item in each store, and to forecast volumes and profitability by product and by store.
