Tesco Chairman Wants UK In EU

The chairman of Tesco, John Allan, has issued a caveat that if Britain departs the European Union major businesses could migrate from the country.

Allan’s comments come at a juncture at which David Cameron intends to hold a national referendum on continued British participation in the EU.

He believes massive businesses will relocate their headquarters from London, and thus damage the economy, if the proposed UK/EU severance goes ahead.

He told the Independent on Sunday, “It’s a question of weighing up the pluses and minuses. This issue of the EU referendum and the uncertainty that it creates and the possibility that it could lead to Britain leaving the EU is a particularly heavy kind of pebble to put in the scales.”
