Italy’s Inalca Food & Beverage Enters Spanish Market

Italy’s Inalca Food & Beverage (IF&B) has entered the Spanish market by acquiring 60% of GrupoComit, a leading distributor of Italian food products on the Canary Islands.

IF&B is a subsidiary of Inalca (part of Cremonini Group), specialising in the international distribution of traditional food products made in Italy.

GrupoComit distributes Italian products to more than 2,500 customers in the HoReCa segment, to supermarkets and cash & carry outlets. Through investments with local companies, it also produces cheese and mozzarella that it distributes to restaurants in the same market. The turnover for 2016 should reach around €16 million.

The group has seven distribution platforms (three in Gran Canaria, two in Tenerife and one in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura) for the distribution of more than 800 references (wine, salami, cheese, mineral water, pasta, preserves, cakes and biscuits, etc.).

IF&B possesses a catalogue of over 10,000 references that represent Italian excellence, with subsidiaries in the US, Australia, Cape Verde, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Mexico and the Canary Islands.
