Jobs In The Spanish Agricultural Sector Fell 2.2% In Q2

The second quarter of 2016 has seen a decrease of 2.2% on employment in the Spanish agricultural sector compared to the first quarter, reports financialfood.es.

This means that 17,200 jobs have been lost in the sector, according to figures from the Active Population Poll (EPA) by the Spanish National Statistics Institute (INE).

However, compared with the same quarter in 2015, employment in the Spanish agricultural sector showed an increase of 2.6%, as there are 19.800 more workers than in said period. The total amount of people currently working in the sector is 760,200.

Unemployment rates this quarter are decreasing across most sectors of the Spanish economy. In agriculture, the amount of people currently unemployed in Spain is 251,700.
