A study by Forbes has named Mercadona's president Juan Roig and his wife Hortensia Herrero as the second-richest in Spain, with a fortune of €8 billion. Amancio Ortega, owner of the Inditex empire, tops the list
As reported by granconsumo.tv, the ranking includes several names from the Spanish retail and FMCG industries.
Sol Daurella, president of Coca-Cola European Partners has the third largest fortune owned by a female, of around €3.7 billion. The families Herráiz, Mahou and Gervás, owners of Mahou San Miguel have a fortune valued at €2.75 billions.
The top 100 fortunes together combined to a total of approximately €198.4 billion, an increase of 4.8% on last year.
