Portugal’s Sonae Acquires Majority Stake In Go Natural

Portuguese retail group Sonae MC has announced that it has taken a 51% stake in Go Natural, an operator of healthy food restaurants across Portugal.

Go Natural, which is operated by Promoção de Eventos, Catering e Consultoria, S.A., has 22 healthy-eating restaurants across Portugal, mainly in shopping centres, and recorded a turnover of €6.4 million in 2015.

Sonae said that the acquisition is ‘aligned with its ambition of growing its presence in Health & Wellness, particularly in the healthy food segment, and fits Sonae’s strategic pillar: strengthen and leverage on Sonae’s key assets and competencies;.

The completion of the deal is subject to the approval of Portuguese competition authorities.
