Tesco To Pay British Dairy Farmers More For Milk

Tesco has confirmed that it will pay dairy farmers 28.71 ppl for their fresh milk from 1 August this year.

This means an increase of 0.02 ppl from the previous quarter, the retailer today announced, through the Tesco Sustainable Dairy Group (TSDG).

This move follows Tesco’s, Fair For Farmers initiative, launched last week, which pledges that all milk sold in Tesco supermarkets is 100% British.

The guarantee from the super-store promises that all cows are well treated, all farmers are paid fairly and that every pint is 100% British.

Tesco milk is sourced from over 600 dairy farmers across Britain.
