Bakkavor Sees Revenue Up 2.2% Over Full Year 2018

Prepared foods producer Bakkavor has announced that group revenue on a reported basis was up 2.2% in the 52 weeks to 29 December 2018.

The group issued a trading update in advance of the publication of its preliminary results on 28 February.

On a like-for-like basis, group revenue was up 3.2% compared to the equivalent period in 2017, with ‘good progress’ recorded across the group, it said.

In the UK, Bakkavor posted a 1.8% increase in like-for-like revenue, in spite of what it termed ‘weak’ consumer confidence, while its International business posted ‘good volume growth’, leading to a 16.0% increase in like-for-like revenues.

‘In the current economic climate, the Board considers this to be a robust performance and confirms that expectations for the full year are unchanged,’ the group said.
