Birra Peroni Invests €13m In New Bottling Plant

Italian brewery Birra Peroni has invested €13 million in a new bottling line in its Bari plant.

In recent years, the production site in Italy’s Puglia region has seen a series of major investments that have enhanced and optimised its production capacity and environmental standards, the company said.

In 2018, the group's facility in Bari reported the highest production in its history.

Beer production exceeded 1.8 million hl during the period, representing growth of 5.7% compared to 2017.

Environmental Performance

The company also continued to improve the plant’s environmental performance.

Its total energy consumption reduced 3.7% year on year in 2018, while CO2 emissions dropped 1.2%.

Production Capacity

According to plant director Michele Cason, the new production line has a potential capacity of processing 50,000 bottles per hour.

The site aims to exceed the two million hl production capacity mark, with a maximum potential of processing 48 bottles per second.

Birra Peroni has invested €26 million in the last 10 years in the Bari production site.

According to corporate affairs director, Federico Sannella, the company will invest another €13 million in the facility over the next three years.
