Stay Ahead Of Fast-Moving Healthy Eating Trends At Food Matters Live 2018

Can food and drink producers and retailers keep up with healthy eating trends, and respond to pressure to cut calories, sugar, and plastic waste?

Food Matters Live 2018 provides the perfect opportunity for industry professionals to keep up to date on the key challenges for the sector and get ahead of their competitors, when it returns to London's ExCeL from 20 to 22 November.

Its unrivalled education programme includes agenda-setting lectures on the main conference stage, with 45 influential industry professionals debating public health initiatives, sustainable diets, reducing plastic waste, post-Brexit innovation, food tech, the future of food design and more.

Expert Speakers

Britvic's Matt Barwell will speak on the next steps for sugar reduction; Belinda Quick from General Mills on future influences on food and nutrition; Coca Cola's Julian Hunt on reformulation as a way of hitting calorie-cutting targets; and Bosh founders Henry Firth and Ian Theasby on whether veganism can ever become a mainstream choice.

Industry experts will offer in-depth insight and guidance in seminar streams covering topics such as tackling obesity; retail trends; sustainable nutrition and supply chains; the future of the free-from market; nutrition for health and wellbeing; packaging design and marketing.

Illustrated with case studies, they will examine a huge array of issues including the latest developments in plant-based 'meat', the ethical outlook of the typical free-from shopper; how 3D printing and artificial intelligence are changing the industry; whether vegan food should be stocked alongside meat; the latest R&D into immune-boosting ingredients; and tips for launching a new product into the UK free-from market.

Curated Exhibition Floor

Visitors can enjoy the latest natural and ethical products, from gluten-free Habanero lime jelly to no-sugar organic truffles, at the Food Matters Live exhibition, featuring 800 manufacturers and ingredient suppliers in zones reflecting key retail growth areas including healthy snacking, free-from, drink well and sports nutrition.

The start-up zone showcases the very latest products to hit the market while food and drink innovation from the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Italy, and other countries can be seen in the themed country pavilions.

The exhibition hosts the UK's biggest gathering of ingredients companies offering food retailers a taste of the most on-trend healthy ingredients.

A cast of international presenters will host live cooking demonstrations and installations on the exhibition floor and there are business opportunities for buyers to meet innovative food producers and ingredient suppliers using Match, a dedicated matchmaking service.

Briony Mansell-Lewis, Food Matters Live Director, said, “Food Matters Live is fast becoming an annual education and business opportunity for many in the industry.

“We’re delighted once again to welcome so many experts to share best practice, forge collaborative relationships, find solutions to challenges and explore new ways of working with colleagues across the food, nutrition and health sectors.”

Food Matters Live is on at London's ExCeL from 20 to 22 November 2018.
