Dunkin' Donuts is ringing in the holiday season this December with the introduction of a special Christmas donut variety.
The seasonal donut variety in a festive Smiley Santa design is available for a limited time at participating Dunkin' Donuts restaurants in the UK, the Canton, Massachusetts-based company said.
The Smiley Santa Donut is a yeast shell donut decorated in icing with a smiley face and Santa Hat. Fillings for the Smiley Santa Donut vary by location, but include Jelly, Bavarian Kreme and Chocolate Kreme.
The Smiley Santa Donut comes one month after the introduction of a croissant version of its namesake producta croissant version of its namesake product on 3 November in the US.
"We're pleased to offer our guests in the UK our special Smiley Santa Donut just in time for the holiday season," said Jeff Miller, executive chef and vice president of product innovation at Dunkin' Brands.
"Donuts are delicious treats to share with friends and family, especially during a season filled with celebrations and gatherings. Our donuts also make great accompaniments to Dunkin' Donuts' range of high-quality coffee and latte beverages."
The special Smiley Santa Donuts are available individually and as a holiday-themed box of a dozen at participating Dunkin' Donuts restaurants in the UK.
Dunkin' Donuts currently has more than 11,000 restaurants in 35 countries around the world, including five restaurants in the UK.
