ESM: European Supermarket Magazine Celebrates Tenth Anniversary

ESM: European Supermarket Magazine has marked its tenth anniversary with the publication of a bumper edition tracking the highs and lows of the past decade in European grocery.

Launched as Private Label Europe in 2009, the magazine was created to meet the demand of pan-European buyers who wanted to get ‘up to speed’ with the latest store brand innovations.

In its very first edition, publisher and founder Kevin Kelly, wrote, ‘We have set a very high ambition: to be one of the best business-to-business magazines in Europe, and to be the outstanding dedicated pan-European supermarket magazine.’

By the end of that year, following a wealth of positive feedback, Private Label Europe had evolved into ESM: European Supermarket Magazine, tapping into a niche heretofore underdeveloped – a magazine aimed at senior management in the pan-European grocery sector, focusing on the issues that mattered most to them, and the emerging trends set to influence the sector of the future.

Today, ESM is read by close to 29,000 chief executives, managing directors, sales directors, procurement managers and category buyers across Europe, and it is distributed at trade shows, conferences and industry events around the world.

It has expanded online, with a website, app and social-media presence updated on a daily basis, bringing you the stories that matter, as and when they happen. It has spawned an awards programme – the European Private Label Awards – and developed partnerships with respected industry bodies, such as the Consumer Goods Forum, ECR Community and IGD.
