Jumbo And Trade Unions Agree On Employment Rights Of Distribution Workers

Dutch retailer Jumbo has reached an agreement with the FNV and CNV trade unions to implement equal wages and employment conditions for all employees within its Jumbo Logistics arm.

So far, distribution workers could not claim salary hikes and other employment benefits under the Jumbo terms of employment regulations.

The Agreement

The new agreement will eliminate discrimination in employment conditions for distribution workers who joined Jumbo Logistics before 1 April 2019.

As part of the deal, the payment of the salary increases from the AVR will be applied retroactively from 26 February 2018.

It will also entitle employees, who joined the company before 1 April 2019, to fully retain their normative historical collective labour rights, the company said.

Jumbo, FNV, and CNV will hold further discussions to restore a more sustainable consultation structure.
