Kimberly-Clark Announces Executive Leadership Changes

The Kimberly-Clark Corporation has announced executive leadership changes to 'accelerate its progress' towards its K-C Strategy 2022 goals.

Kimberly-Clark Professional’s current president, Aaron Powell, has been appointed as the new president of the company’s Asia-Pacific consumer business.

In his new role, Powell will oversee the company's largest international region, which operates in over 30 countries worldwide, including the ASEAN member states, Australia, China, India and South Korea.

Chief Transformation Officer

The current president of Kimberly-Clark's Asia-Pacific consumer business, Achal Agarwal, has been appointed to the newly created position of chief transformation officer.

This new role will see Agarwal further building K-C's global organisational capabilities and evolving its work practices in order to deliver consistent results.

Both Agarwal and Powell will continue to report to chief executive officer and board chairman, Mike Hsu. The changes will be effective from 1 March 2020.

The company has yet to name a successor to Powell to lead Kimberly-Clark Professional into the future.

Leadership Changes

"These leadership changes will help to further enable achievement of our K-C Strategy 2022 objectives," said Hsu. "Achal and Aaron are both seasoned executives with proven ability to deliver higher levels of sustained results and position us to delight consumers every day, everywhere."

Powell has held a number of roles at Kimberly-Clark prior to leading the Kimberly-Clark Professional business. He previously led the company's consumer business in EMEA, and served as vice president and managing director of its consumer business in Central and Eastern Europe.

During his time as president of Kimberly-Clark's Asia-Pacific consumer business, he accelerated growth and market share gains in emerging markets such as China and ASEAN, the company said.

Agarwal previously held leadership roles at PepsiCo Inc. and Imperial Chemical Industries.
