L’Oréal Named 'Top Employer' For Gender Diversity: Equileap

L’Oréal has been placed at the top of Equileap's 2017 Global Gender Equality Ranking, scoring ahead of more than 3,000 other companies for its level of inclusivity.

'This unprecedented ranking will help investors discover which companies lead the field in terms of gender balance so they can invest with a gender lens aiming to make a difference and a return,' the group said in a statement.

About Equileap

Equileap, a non-profit organisation, used 19 gender-equality criteria in its assessment of the gender-diversity health of the companies involved.

The body was ‘created in the light of independent research showing that gender diverse companies tend to produce higher financial returns. Equal pay and more broadly, equal opportunities at work are powerful levers to grow global prosperity.’

Earlier this year, L’Oréal was named the winner of the Institut du Capitalisme Responsible and Ethics & Boards Observatory prize for Gender Diversity, reflecting its progress in all strata of the company in the area.
