Unilever Completes Acquisition Of Quala Personal-Care Brands

Consumer goods giant Unilever announced yesterday that it has completed its acquisition of personal-care and home-care brands from Quala.

The deal, which was first announced in May 2017, will see Unilever acquire a number of leading Latin American brands across several categories, including hair-care ranges Savital, eGo, and Bio-Expert, as well as Fortident toothpaste and Aromatel fabric conditioner.

Expanding Portfolio

“We are delighted to be acquiring Quala’s personal care and home care portfolio," said Paul Polman, CEO of Unilever.

“The inclusion of these brands in our stable will consolidate our leading position in Haircare globally, and contribute to our Oral Care and Male Grooming businesses, complementing very well our existing offering.”

Unilever made several moves to expand its personal care unit in 2017, including its acquisitions of hair and skin-care company Sundial Brands, deodorant brand Schmidt's Naturals, and cosmetics company Carver Korea.
