Weetabix Appoints Becky Hain As Head Of Category

Weetabix Food Company UK & Ireland has appointed Becky Hain as its new head of category, succeeding Fran Davies who was recently promoted to marketing director.

Hain joined Weetabix in 2003, and has held a number of positions in the company, from account manager to overseeing the Irish market. In 2015 she took on her most recent role as head of sales of the 'Weetabix on the go' breakfast drinks business.

Retailer Collaboration

The company says that in her new role, Hain will 'oversee the development and execution of Weetabix's vision to drive mutual growth for retailers and the Weetabix Food Company'.

"Continued retailer collaboration will be vital as we continue to lead the healthy breakfast category towards growth," said Kevin Fawell, Weetabix commercial director for UK and Ireland.

"Becky has proven herself more than capable through her fantastic management of the breakfast drinks category, forming strong relationships with retailers, listening to their needs and suggesting bespoke product and customer solutions that have seen our category partnership go from strength to strength.”

Recent Changes

There have been several major changes at Weetabix in recent weeks. Earlier this month US consumer goods company Post Holdings completed its £1.4 billion acquisition of Weetabix, after China's Bright Food Group agreed to sell its 60% stake.

Alongside the acquisition, Sally Abbot was appointed managing director of the company, while Fran Davies succeed her as group marketing director.

Hain, who is now succeeding Davies as head of category, said that she is “really excited to take on this new challenge at a time when Weetabix is experiencing incredible growth".
