Ahold's Albert Heijn banner has opened an online grocery pick-up point at Amsterdam's Schiphol airport, allowing holiday-makers to order Albert Heijn groceries while abroad and pick them up on their return.
The new pick-up point (PUP) is open Monday through Saturday from 6.30 am until midnight and is located next to the long-term car park and the employee car park at the airport.
Commenting on the launch of the pick-up point, Sander van der Laan, chief executive at Albert Heijn, said, "Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport welcomes more than 50 million travelers annually, a large number of whom are Dutch. Moreover, more than 64,000 people work at the airport. We are excited that we can employ a PUP to provide so many people with convenience and efficiency at this wonderful and unique location."
The pick-up point at Amsterdam airport is the 11th to be launched since Albert Heijn began roll-out of the service last year.
