Albert Heijn To Open Fourth Logistics Centre For Online Sales

Dutch retailer Albert Heijn has announced that it is set to open a fourth Home Shop Center (HSC) hub, in Eindhoven, which is tailored to service the retailer's growing online offering.

The opening of the new HSC brings to 25 the number of national and local hubs operated by Albert Heijn to service its home-shopping network. It also operates HSCs in Rotterdam, Almere and De Meern.

The new Eindhoven facility will be 18,000 square metres in size and employ around 800 staff members once fully operational.

Online Shopping

Around 28,500 products from the retailer's Albert Heijn, Etos and Gall & Gall chains are available via its online portal, AH.nl.

'Online shopping is here to stay and growing rapidly,' Albert Heijn wrote in a statement. 'There is growing customer demand for convenience and flexibility.'
