Albert Heijn Opens 'Self-Scanning Only' Supermarket in Amsterdam

Ahold-owned Albert Heijn has announced the opening of a 100 per cent self-scanning and pin supermarket on the Weteringschans in Amsterdam.

The new supermarket is complete with hand scanners and the self-scanning checkout 'Scan & Go'.

Mobile self-scanning is also available, so that the customer can scan the products directly from the shelf.

According to the supermarket, the store with allow for employees to take on different roles such as greeting visitors and answering customer queries.
