Albert Heijn Adds Squash Spaghetti To Pasta Range

Dutch retailer Albert Heijn has added squash spaghetti to its private-label range of fresh pasta products.

The retailer says that the product's introduction is in response to 'the wishes of consumers who like to opt for pure ingredients and fewer carbohydrates'. The range already includes zucchini spaghetti, and cauliflower and broccoli rice as healthy alternatives to standard carbohydrates.

A selection of stuffed pasta products was also recently added to the own-brand range, featuring three varieties: buffalo ricotta with lemon, pumpkin with sage, and grilled vegetables.

Increased Range

In recent months, Albert Heijn has upped its range of healthy private-label products. In March, it said that it was increasing 'quite considerably' its Vrij van Gluten (Free from Gluten) range, while, in the same month, the retailer unveiled a range of healthy snacks made with natural ingredients like nuts, seeds and dried fruit.

Earlier this year, the retailer was presented with the 2017 Good Food Award (Jaarprijs Goede Voeding) for its cauliflower- and broccoli-rice products.
