Albert Heijn Opens Renovated Store In The Hague

  • Dutch retailer Albert Heijn has announced that it has opened a renovated store in De Savornin Lohmanplein shopping centre in The Hague.

    The retailer has upgraded the store into the Albert Heijn XL format, which offers a wide range of products and faster checkout.

    It also Albert Heijn’s 200th outlet to incorporate its latest store concept which focuses on tasty, healthy and sustainable food items.

    Renovated Outlet

    The renovated outlet in The Hague is equipped with 30 self-scanning checkouts, offering more than 1,250 affordably priced products.

    The store offers a wide selection of fresh fruit and vegetables as well as chilled fruit salads.

    The bakery section offers freshly baked bread, pies, cakes, biscuits and chocolate.

    Supermarket manager Sjon van Ballegooijen added, “We now have an entire wall with many fresh herbs where you can cut the herbs yourself.

    “There is also a sushi bar where fresh sushi is prepared on-site and at the Vega Island you will find more than 200 vegetarian and vegan products together.”

    Other Highlights

    The store also offers a large selection of cold cuts, cheese, sausages, tapas, nuts, olives, salads and other snacks.

    Customers can also enjoy a cup of coffee from the barista at the entrance of the store along with sweets, savory snacks, fresh pizza, or pasta, the company said.

    The store has also incorporated many digital innovations such as electronic price cards, large screens with information about seasonal products and recipes.
