Aldi US Commits To Healthier Checkout Aisles

Aldi has been praised by anti-obesity and health-action groups in the US for making a commitment to stocking healthier snack foods at checkouts in its stores, various sources report.

As part of the scheme, more than 1,500 Aldi outlets across the US will promote healthier products such as fruits (dried and non-dried) and nuts as part of a scheme called ‘Healthier Checklanes’.

“By introducing Healthier Checklanes and through a number of other initiatives, we are doing our part to remove temptation at checkout and stocking stores with even more nutritious options,” said Jason Hart, chief executive of Aldi USA. “At Aldi, we truly care about our customers, and we’re responding with guilt-free checkout zones and increased food options they can feel good about.”
