Nisa Launches New Ordering App For Members

UK convenience retail chain Nisa has launched a new mobile app to help its members place and monitor their orders.

The app is designed as a simple tool that allows retailers to build and place orders, price-check products and promotions, and view deliveries on a list of certified iOS and Android tablets and smartphones, Nisa said.

The app also includes a scanning function, which uses the phone’s built-in camera to quickly create orders and search for products in store, eliminating the need for customers to buy separate hand-held scanning equipment.

Members can calculate any combination of margin, cost or sell to help maximise in-store profits through an added utilities function in the app. They can also use it to check their Nisa deliveries and see pre-sells, substitutions and amendments to orders, according to Nisa.

On The Move

“The app has been created to help our members and make their lives that little bit easier,” said Peter Walker, head of business systems at Nisa. “It allows retailers to check products [and] promotional offers, place orders and check deliveries whilst they are on the move.”

“It is a simple, no-cost option for retailers to quickly create and place orders. Stand-alone hand-held ordering units have, to date, been a costly piece of equipment and often restrictive to use,” Walker added. “With this app, the full Nisa range can now be easily searched, regardless of location, and with the quick-order function utilising the mobile device’s existing camera to read bar codes, ordering is now simpler and faster than ever.”

Following a trial period, the app has now launched, and members have been issued with full instructions for the app installation and a simple how-to guide.

“The members who have been trialling the app have been very complimentary, and they are finding it a very simple and efficient process,” Walker said. “I’m confident it will make a big difference to our members as they get on board in the coming weeks.”
