Auchan Set To Roll Out Fujitsu Checkouts In-Store

Auchan is to equip new stores with convertible Fujitsu checkouts.

The new checkout technology allows checkout lanes to be operated in a self-service fashion or to be manned by a sales assistant as required. The Fujitsu checkouts, which are equipped with U-Reverse technology, will allow Auchan to provide more serviced checkouts during peak times as well as allowing for self-service during quieter hours, when fewer staff are required on the shop floor. The Fujitsu technology has been successfully trialled in the Valence and Nancy regions of France.
