Danone Invests In Organic Baby Food Start-Up Yooji

Dairy company Danone has announced that its venture capital unit, Danone Manifesto Ventures, is investing in a frozen organic baby food start-up company, Yooji.

Founded in 2012, French company Yooji manufactures frozen portion-sized organic products, in response to a growing demand from parents for high-quality healthy baby meals. Its products are currently sold in more than 600 stores throughout France.

Following this investment, Yooji will continue to operate independently, with the development of the business remaining in the hands of its existing management team.

Danone Manifesto Ventures was launched at the end of 2016, and this investment is the fourth that the unit has made this year. Danone says that the initiative is part of its 'commitment to support companies at the forefront of bringing about the alimentation trends of tomorrow'.
