Lidl Joins brotZeit At Annual Berlin Street Party

German retailer Lidl and breakfast-club charity brotZeit will join the annual Berlin Street Festival together, for the second time. The annual street party will take place at the presidential residence in Berlin (Germany) on 9 and 10 September. This year Lidl will cater for the festival for the first time, supplying food to be cooked on site, as well as snacks.

Since 2009 Lidl has donated ingredients for thousands of breakfasts to the brotZeit charity, which was founded in 2009 by German actress Uschi Glas. The ‘breakfast club’ ensures that school children from all backgrounds have a good start to the day. In 2015 the charity supplied 175 German schools with breakfasts for around 8,000 students.

Like last year, Lidl and brotZeit will share a stand at the festival. The stand will invite children to create their own gym bag - using fabric markers, stamps, textile tattoos and stencils - to take home for free, filled with treats from the Lidl assortment.

Lidl is one of Germany’s leading companies in food retail. Its 39 regional branches employ more than 75,000 people.
