Banks, Beer Among Most Valuable Brands in Brazil

The most valuable brands in Brazil are banks and beer, according to a ranking of the 25 top Brazilian brands in 2016 produced by brand consultancy firm Interbrand.

The largest private bank in Latin America, Itaú, and financial group Bradesco took the two top spots, while beer brands Skol (which grew 9% from 2015) and Brahma (+4%) placed in third and fourth place.

Other companies from the food and beverage industry include soft drink and beer producer Antarctica in 7th place (+3%), hypermarket chain Extra in 18th place (-7%) and beer brand Bohemia in 21st place (+10%).

Interestingly, although the Brazilian economy has continued to shrink, the total value of the 25 most valuable Brazilian brands has grown 5.4% in 2016. The portfolio that was worth BRL 104 billion (€29 billion) last year is now worth BRL 110 billion (€31 billion)

The survey was conducted all over Brazil and included more than 1,000 respondents and 124 brands.
