British Retail Consortium Announces New Appointments To Board

The British Retail Consortium has announced the appointment of two new board members, Melanie Steel and Jon Bye.

Melanie Steel has worked in a number of consumer facing industries, including FMCG, retail, health and financial services, as well as working in the public sector, including at the UK's Cabinet Office, 10 Downing Street, the Ministry of Defence and the Department for Work and Pensions.

Jon Bye has been at Sainsbury's for ten years, currently holding he role of zone managing director for the south of the UK, which encompasses around 45 stores, and more than 50,000 employees.

He has previous experience at Cap Gemini and Accenture and was an NED of an NHS Foundation Trust.

In a statement, the British Retail Consortium said that it 'looks forward to working with them closely as we continue our mission to make a positive difference to the retail industry and the customers it serves, today and in the future'.
