Rewe To Expand C-Store Presence Across Germany

German supermarket chain Rewe will spend €1.7 billion in 2015 on construction and conversion of stores, 200 of which will be new stores or expansions, according to PetrolPlaza.com.

The retailer is also considering plans to open c-stores in half of the Aral fuel stations across Germany. Rewe has a partnership with Aral, which has 2,500 stations around the country.

Currently, Rewe has c-stores in ten Aral stations, and it will decide by the end of this year whether or not it will expand the operation.

The €1.7-billion investment into its 1,100 stores is supported by its sales growth internationally and domestically, PetrolPlaza.com reported.
