Campbell Soup Appoints New Diversity Chief

The Campbell Soup Company has appointed a new chief diversity and inclusion officer, a newly created role in the business.

The company has appointed Monica Diaz in the newly-created role, which will see her lead Campbell’s enterprise-wide diversity and inclusion strategy, creating new programmes and enhancing existing initiatives to foster an inclusive culture and diverse workforce that mirrors Campbell’s consumer base, the company says. She will begin her role on 20 November, 2017.

Diaz has a long track record of working for diversity and inclusion in the workplace. She joins Campbell from the US sports TV channel ESPN, where she worked as vice president for diversity, inclusion and wellness.

Inclusive Track Record

Previously, she worked as global diversity and inclusion director at Microsoft and at Merck & Co. in a variety of roles including global constituency groups director – diversity and work environment.

Commenting on her performance, Bob Morrissey, senior vice president and chief HR officer said, “Diversity and inclusion are critical to our business success and are foundational elements of Campbell’s culture. Monica’s proven track record in human resources, diversity and inclusion, wellness and talent management made her stand out among the many candidates we considered.
