Wine Brand Campo Viejo Sees Sales Rise 10 Per Cent

Spanish wine brand Campo Viejo, owned by Pernod Ricard, ended 2015 registering a growth in sales of 10 per cent, reaching 22.5 million bottles sold.

As reported by financialfood.es, the brand strengthened its position in the UK during the period. The figures were released recently at a recent Pernod Ricard Bodegas (PRB) meeting.

Christian Barré, President of PRB, announced the positive results for Campo Viejo and Azpilicueta, another brand in its portfolio which grew 11 per cent last year and has shown a consistent progression since 2010.

"There results are excellent for PRB and which is specially satisfying is that growth comes from value. Our value strategy centered in premium wines has helped us to continue improving and increasing our contribution to the group", said Barré.

In 2010, exports represented 35 per cent of PRB's business, however today this figure is as high as 70 per cent. PRB is now present in 70 countries.
