Carrefour Extends Delivery Platform To Suburban Nairobi

Carrefour has extended its delivery network in Nairobi to include areas further out of the Kenyan capital.

This is an effort to capitalise on the growing affluence of the resident middle class, BusinessDailyAfrica.com has reported.

Shoppers will pay more for the service if they are situated further out from the city, however: while a same-day delivery costs KES 2,320 (€20.85) within the more central ‘zone one’, the fee is set at KES 2,900 (€26.06) for ‘zone two’, which includes towns such as Rongai, Gachie, Ruiru, Mwiki, Kitengela, and Ongata.

Next-day delivery for these two areas are KES 1,160 (€10.43) and KES 2,320 (€20.85) respectively.

Carrefour has also created a third zone for which only next-day delivery is possible, covering Eldoret, Kisumu, Nyeri, Mombasa, and Nakuru. The cost of this is KES 2,320 (€20.85).
