Italian company Chewingreen has launched the first chewing gum in the country made exclusively from natural ingredients.
According to Chewingreen CEO Girgio Zanatta, conventional chewing gums contain synthetic base rubber, artificial sweeteners and additives dyes and flavours, which do not protect the health of the consumers or the environment.
However, Chewingreen’s products are sweetened with essential oils and natural flavours, and are suitable for vegans. The gums retain their original appearance, as no dyes are used.
Production takes place in a small facility in Treviso, using only basic gum and xylitol products in an environmentally-friendly way, according to the company.
Sold online and through selected retailers, the Chewingreen products are available in four flavours - Sicily lemon, Calabria liquorice, peppermint and spearmint.
