Belgian retail group Colruyt has announced that it has converted two of its outlets in Marcinelle and Knokke into low-energy stores.
The two stores are reopening after months of renovation, and are part of the retailer’s plan to restyle its stores into new-generation outlets.
Both stores had the front and roof of the building renovated, providing them with additional insulation and making the stores more air-proof.
The stores also have included an expanded butcher’s department, offering customers a more diverse range of meat.
Collect&Go
Colruyt Marcinelle has added a Collect&Go pick-up point to its store, a feature already present in Colruyt Knokke.
The managers of the two stores, Vincent Roulet (Marcinelle) and Tine Gilté (Knokke), described this feature as “the handy Colruyt service where we shop for our customers".
“They send their shopping list to collectandgo.be or via the app, and the Collect&Go employees have their products ready at the pick-up point on the day and time of their choice."
Colruyt recently announced that it intends to convert 234 of its outlets into more energy-efficiency stores. The group is investing €75 million into the project which will take place over 12 years.
