Coca-Cola Products Removed From Colruyt Shelves

A number of Coca-Cola products have been temporarily removed from the shelves of retailer Colruyt, after the Belgian operator said that it had not reached agreement with the soft drink giant on pricing.

Yesterday, Belgian newspaper L'Echo quoted a Colruyt spokesperson as saying that while Coca-Cola products are still available in its stores these are "in limited numbers".

At least 32 SKUS are said to be affected.

Reaching Agreement

The spokesperson added that in the majority of cases, "an agreement is quickly reached" in negotiations with suppliers, "but it sometimes happens that the two parties take a little longer to reach a consensus, as is the case which occupies us today".

The retailer is also said to be in negotiations with coffee roaster Douwe Egberts over the pricing of its products in Colruyt stores, with a number of products similarly removed from sale on a temporary basis.

On the impasse with Douwe Egberts, the spokesperson said that the retailer was "progressing constructively towards a solution", according to L'Echo.
