Colruyt’s Bio-Planet To Offer Free, Personalised Diet Advice
Belgian retailer Colruyt Group’s organic chain, Bio-Planet, has announced the launch of Food Compass, a service that will offer customers free, personalised diet advice, commencing 16 October 2018.
The service will help customers gain a better understanding of their eating habits, and help them make more conscious food choices, the retailer said.
The move makes Bio-Planet the first Belgian retailer to offer such a service.
In its pilot phase, the supermarket will start with a group of around 1,500 customers in the Flanders region. The service will be evaluated after six months, the retailer said.
The organic chain's business unit manager, Jo Ghilain, said, “The more feedback and tips we get, the more focused the advice we can give.
“The intention is to extend 'Food compass' to the whole of Belgium because we believe in its added value for our customers,” Ghilain added.
To avail the service, customers are required to complete a one-off questionnaire about their food habits. They also have to agree to have their purchases in Bio-Planet, Colruyt and OKay stores analysed. Diet advice will be offered by a dietician on a weekly basis.
In April 2017, Colruyt Group announced an investment of around €30 million in growing the organic supermarket chain.
