Magnit Unveils Pilot Click-And-Collect E-Pharmacy Scheme

Russian retailer Magnit has launched a 'e-pharmacy' pilot scheme, enabling shoppers in the Moscow region to click and collect drugstore products from more than 100 pharmacies.

Customers can log on to apteka.magnit.ru, the Magnit Pharmacy website, Magnit's smartphone app or its customer call centre to select from up to 5,000 SKUs, including pharmaceuticals, medicinal cosmetics, personal hygiene products, baby food, medical devices, and seasonal items.

There is no minimum order amount, and shoppers can avail of 30 minute or next-day click-and collect services. Users can also accrue bonus points for Magnit's cross-format loyalty programme using the service.

The pilot will run until the end of 2020, at which time the business will make the decision whether to scale the scheme to other Russian regions.

Customer Offering

“We are delighted to launch Magnit’s e-pharmacy today, the first of our own customer offerings available through our e-commerce channel," commented Jan Dunning, president and CEO of Magnit.

"This initiative not only enables us to offer our customers a convenient service that complements our existing proposition, it also provides us with the opportunity to refine and perfect the systems and operational models ahead of future launches, including Magnit’s food delivery service.”
