UK-based symbol group Costcutter is to introduce three new private label ranges to its offering. The new brands to appear on the shelves of the group's stores are entitled Independent Trader, Independent and Independent Specialist.
The brands have been registered as a trademark, along with a logo shared by all three ranges, which features a paper shopping bag with the word "Independent" on it. Spanning the three tiers from entry level to premium, the lines will comprise of some 700 products.
Costcutter's marketing director Ian Bishop said, “We are investing a significant amount of money into creating an own label that sets new standards. Our approach has followed that of any major new brand development, to allow retailers and consumers to identify with the new range.” (3 April)
