Tesco To Increase Craft-Beer Range In UK Stores

Tesco has announced plans to increase its craft-beer range to over 70 different types in stores throughout the UK.

The retailer says that it has seen annual growth of over 40% in craft-beer sales, so it is now allocating an extra 350% of shelf space to these products.

Tesco will now stock beers from the UK, the USA, Sweden and Japan, reflecting the growing craft-beer trend.

"Britain's thirst for craft beer shows no sign of slowing down. It's a drink that is popular with both millennials and older drinkers looking for a more artisan experience and exciting flavours," said Chloe Harrison, Tesco's craft-beer buyer.

Tesco will also be the first major retailer in the country to stock sour beer.

"We think that sour brews are destined to become the next frontier for beer lovers, in the same way that golden ale helped convert diehard lager lovers over to light and refreshing ales," said Harrison.
